Tansley Cafe is a long-standing coffee morning, but it has recently been enhanced to be more like a cafe; there are no other cafes in the village. At the cafe you can access more than just a brew and a biscuit; the team offer homemade cakes, bacon butties, sausage rolls and more. A weekly post office runs alongside and on certain weeks you can speak to the local PCSO; we invited her to make the cafe a community meeting venue. There is a 'freezer of love' which is a freezer full of meals that people can collect when they are in need. Last year we held a popular winter coat exchange, which has been repeated this year.
We have also created welcome gift bags for the residents arriving in new builds (and elsewhere) in Tansley. The Woodhall site manager has been really good at letting us know when people have moved, or are about to move, into the site. The gift bags are full of good quality produce that is all eco-friendly. So far, we have been greeted well and the gifts have been gratefully received.
